CITY PARK The Prairie City Park and restroom facility are located across the street from City Hall. Picnic tables, playground equipment, and a gazebo are available for day use by the public. CONSTRUCTION Building permits are required for all residential and commercial construction. Zoning restrictions and permit information can be obtained from the Grant County Planning Department.

 NEW BUSINESS LICENSE REQUIREMENTS If you own a business that a) operates from a location within the city limits of Prairie City, or b) does business in Prairie City, regardless of your business location, you are now required to acquire and display a City Business License in order to legally operate your business. This includes retail businesses, home-based businesses, peddlers and transient merchants wishing to perform work within the City. 1. Please read the COVER LETTER/INSTRUCTIONS and 2. Print the BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATION In order to acquire your license, you must submit an application along with $25 either in person to the City Clerk located at City Hall at 133 South Bridge St. in Prairie City or by mail to: City Hall – Business Licensing, PO Box 370 Prairie City, OR. 97869 . DOG LICENSE Dogs living within the city are required to be licensed. The fee for a neutered or spayed dog is $5.00 with proof of a recent rabies vaccination. Inquire, apply for or renew your licenses at City Hall.

DEWITT MUSEUM AND DEPOT PARK The DeWitt Museum and Prairie City Depot of the Sumpter Valley Railway is located at the junction of Main and Bridge Streets and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is housed within the original two-story depot building. The ground floor contains the waiting room, station agent's office, freight room, and baggage and express room.
